
Maribor Destination Guide
The capitol of Styria, Maribor, is the second largest city in Slovenia, but is also pleasantly small. It has a rich wine tradition, which is not a surprise, as its location is between wine growing hills and Pohorje, giving you abundant possibilities for sports, relaxation, exploring, ect.
While visiting Maribor, you should take a walk along the river Drava, see the oldest part of Maribor- Lent, the Grajski trg square, the Town hall, bishop Slomsek's Cathedral and its viewing tower, the art gallery and theatre… you will absolutely be enchanted by the beauties of Maribor and it’s nearby sights…
You should see the fascinating landscape, as it is interesting throughout the year. Maribor is also known for its cultural events. An explosion of those occur every year during the Lent festival in early July. You should also visit the Old Wine Festival, The Maribor Festival, The Golden Fox, The Castle Masters Festival, which is also featuring the castle market place on Fridays and Saturdays as well as concerts, which take place until mid September. There are also different concerts and exhibitions in Bolfenk and many other cultural and sports events.

Pohorje
Be sure to see Ribnisko Jezero Lake, Crno Jezero Lake and the Lovrensko Jezerje Lakes with their dwarf pine shrubbery.
