Shopping might not be the most important thing you need to do while staying in Maribor, but nevertheless it is unavoidable. If you prefer smaller shops, we advise you to stay in the city centre, and if not, there's a big shopping center just across the river Drava.

Unite pleasant social gatherings and shopping into one and go to the modern shopping centres, where you can choose from wide selections of offers and enjoy numerous social events and catering offers. On the other side of the Drava river stands Europark Maribor which is one of three big shopping centres in Maribor. Here you will find many attractive offers of worldwide name brands, exhibitions, social games, children’s performances and a park.
In the Gosposka street, the main shopping street of Maribor’s pedestrian zone lies a friendly and modern firm named Galerija Gosposka. It offers clothing and footwear of world renowned modern trademarks. Gourmets can treat themselves to the culinary delights in the coffeehouse, restaurant and wine-o-theque as well as in the bar Rožmarin.
If you want to shop, socialise and entertain yourself at the same time than we advise you to visit Supermarket Planet Tus Studenci . This shopping centre combines a multiplex cinema, bowling and billiard and of course great restaurants. There is a bank in the shopping centre, open during the week until 8pm.
Ecological Market is located at the square Glavni trg. At the Ecological Market stalls farmers offer: seasonal fruit and vegetables, products from fruit and vegetables, cereals, cereal products, bread, gibanica, pastries... Pick up some of these delicious snacks and you can enjoy brunch in the most beautiful city park in Slovenia.
For something local, pick up souvenirs at the tourist information center, Skrinja-Galerija Daril, at your hotel or one of the many souvenirs shops in Maribor.
For a more unusual memory of your trip, go to The Old Wine House. Here you can buy excellent Štajerska wines, hand made Slovenian chocolate and pralines and various souvenirs from Maribor-Pohorje destination.Besides buying you can also try different wines and see a rich exhibition room.
Handicrafts and Local Goods
The potter's trade is one of the oldest trades in Slovenia. In Maribor, pottery products can be purchased only 2 kilometres from the city centre at the Pottery Studio Lorna & Črtomir. If you don't fancy going outside Maribor to buy some pots, you can stop by the Honey Seller and Candle Maker in the city centre. Here you can buy gingerbread, honey and wax products that can be given as cordial gifts.
