Transportation in Maribor
Maribor is a traffic centre because it lies on the crossroads from west to eastern and southern Europe, and is just 11 km from the Austrian border. The older part of the city is quite small so you can walk trough without feeling tired. The transport connections are good making it one more reason to visit Maribor.
Getting to Maribor
By Air
Maribor Edvard Rusjan Airport is the second biggest airport in Slovenia. It is located 9 km south of the Maribor railway station. The airport currently has one scheduled flight and there are also seasonal charter flights to coastal destinations.
By Train
You can travel trough whole Slovenia only by train. Local trains in Maribor can transport you to any part of the country in not more than 3 hours. Thr railway station is located on Partizanska cesta 50 in Maribor close to the city centre.
By Bus
The 'avtobusna postaja' or bus station is situated next to the train station, and provides bus services throughout Slovenia as well as neighbouring countries.
By Car
